nVent Retail General Manager - Electrical Connections in New Berlin, Wisconsin

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
This position serves as the Retail General Manager, reporting directly to the President of Electrical Connections. You will be responsible for owning the vision, strategy, and P&L for our retail Electrical Connections business including but not limited to our Gardner Bender, King Innovation, Caddy, and Erico brands
Lead the strategy for our retail business, identifying the short and long-term business blueprint to deliver profitable growth and improve customer experience
Responsible for overall profit and loss and day-to-day tactical execution
Hire, develop, empower, and retain top talent while building a culture of engagement and accountability
Grow our market-leading brand share and position through a focus on innovation, promotion, service, and customer experience
Act as a primary interface to our retail customers, partners, suppliers, media, and internal team members
Develop “top to top” relationships with our customers and partners to ensure open lines of communication and collaboration
Responsible for advising and coordinating all divisional department activities to develop and implement long-range goals and objectives
Lead the annual or category line reviews in securing and growing our shelf space with key retailers
Work with the marketing team to ensure impactful category marketing and promotion
Work with all functions to ensure optimal service to our customers and drive profitable growth
Responsible for safe working conditions for the sites while ensuring environmental responsibility in all company activities, operations, and alignment with government regulations
Accountability for compliance with local legislation and developing/integrating and administering nVent policies
YOU HAVE:
Bachelor’s degree required preferably in business, engineering, or marketing. MBA preferred
Ability to work hybrid from our office in New Berlin, WI and travel 25-50% as needed when not in the office
Ideally, 10+ years serving in a leadership role with extensive P&L management with previous experience in a retail leadership role. (Hardware or Home Improvement channel preferred)
Experience in building top-to-top relationships with key retailer organizations and buyers
Validated knowledge of category management and retail sales and marketing tactics
Knowledge and experience using sales force efficiency tools and approaches (i.e. customer segmentation, territory management, technology tools such as CRM and mobile technologies, sales force time management)
Ability to identify sales force capability gaps/implementation of plans to address for sustainable success
Shows a passion for improving the delivery of services with a commitment to continuous improvement
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others, persuasion, and influence, both internally and externally in a selling environment
Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstances and have the ability to thrive in a constantly evolving business environment
