Galvion Product Configuration Coordinator (Document Control) in Montreal, Quebec

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Product Configuration Coordinator implements proposed changes of processes, systems, and or product design using knowledge of, production, systems, and procurement activities, and coordinates recording of changes and modifications for management control. The Product Configuration Coordinator is also responsible for maintaining, communicating, educating, implementing, and improving the ECR/ECO process as part of the Product Life Cycle (PLC) process for product development and Bill of Materials (BOM) management within the Tactical Head Solutions Line of Business.

SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Talks with users to establish change-reporting procedure and prepares directives for change authorization and documentation by company and/or subcontractor personnel.

  • Examines proposed design/process changes to prepare report of overall effect for management action, using knowledge of products, manufacturing, and procurement activities.

  • Converses with department managers to obtain additional information or to interpret policies and procedures for reporting changes in product design or process.

  • Coordinates activities of personnel preparing manual or automated records of design/process change documents and inspection.

  • Participates in the management of Arena, the PLM system for Galvion.

  • Executes the ECR and ECO process through the Arena system, acting as the initiation point for and the gatekeeper of the ECR and ECO submissions.

  • Participate in the coordination of product configurations with Operations, Product, Marketing, and Sales to ensure that BOMs in the Arena system are accurate and up to date.

  • Participate in the revision control of the BOM items in Arena.

  • Work with Operations and IT to ensure that Arena BOM items migrate smoothly to Galvion's ERP system (SyteLine).

  • Point of contact for the content, the entry process of content, and also serves as the first point of contact for Tactical Head Solutions Line of Business BOM escalations.

  • Work collaboratively with all departments that require ECR, ECO and BOM assistance.

  • Provide outstanding internal customer service in all daily interactions.

Knowledge, Skill & Experience Requirements

  • 0 to 2-year associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 0 to 2 years' experience working in a manufacturing or production environment required.

  • Must have strong interpersonal / relationship building skills.

  • Knowledge of principles, theories, and concepts related to process and configuration management, a plus.

  • Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings.

  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office tools required.

  • Cross-cultural business experience considered a plus.

  • Experience in the use of ERP programs i.e. Syteline, a plus.

  • Experience in the use of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) programs i.e. Arena, a plus.

  • Highly motivated problem solver with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Occasional travel to Galvion USA Locations is required (Newport, VT & Portsmouth, NH)

Must qualify for Canadian Controlled Goods Program
