Overview
The Energy Program Manager will be focused on energy and efficiency resources in the thermal sector for the Public Service Department (PSD).
Duties include oversight of planning and delivery of thermal energy and process fuel efficiency measures and programs administered by the distribution utilities and Efficiency Vermont. The position will also represent the Department in its oversight role on the proposed Clean Heat Standard, and on compliance pathways for thermal sector emissions reduction goals as laid out in the Global Warming Solutions Act. The role will serve as the subject matter expert for thermal sector policy analyses and discussions, and as a key witness in testimony before the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) and legislature. The Manager will also be responsible for overseeing evaluation and verification, including 3rd party consultants, and annual reporting responsibilities for all thermal sector programs. Additionally, the role will serve as the liaison between the Climate Action Office and the Department of Public Service on thermal efficiency to ensure that program offerings and planning processes are aligned.
Environmental Factors
Work is performed in a standard office setting, with some required travel to meetings for which private means of transportation must be available. Some evening, weekend, and overtime work may be required. Extensive interaction with utility representatives, public interest groups, consultants, public and private organizations, and citizens will be expected.
