As an Associate Brand Manager for Gallo’s “On Premise" Commercial wine team, you will have the opportunity to be at the forefront of leading Gallo’s business unit focused on building leadership in the dynamic on-premise channel. In this role, you will manage a portfolio that meets all the needs of the channel – from Entry Tier brands that recruit new consumers into the category and drive significant company revenue, to Back-of-the-house brands that deepen Gallo’s relationship with operators.

You will be responsible for driving brand portfolio strategy, including pricing, innovation gap analysis, innovation tests and launches, and packaging. You will also become the expert for this channel and its unique needs through both research and heavy in-market immersion.

The “On Premise” team will take part in creating new capabilities, best practices and driving transformational change for the organization. The ideal candidate will have CPG and/or alcohol beverage marketing experience, a passion for every aspect of the on-premise channel and a desire to be out in the market where you will build relationships with Gallo Sales and garner a deep understanding of restaurant and bar operator’s needs and behaviors. This position also requires a strong presence, as you will be the face of the team to both Sales and on-premise accounts throughout the country.

What You Will Do:

Maintains a consistent understanding of business drivers and growth opportunities for assigned brands and develops strategies to address in an omni-channel environment.

  • Analyzes business on a monthly basis to uncover and activate against business drivers.

  • Has a strong understanding of the fine wine category and how winery should operate within it.

  • Works with key SME teams to develop strategies to address business drivers and growth opportunities

  • Observes and analyzes new trends and competitive activities to seek out innovative ways to build marketing effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Recommends new trends and competitive activities to seek out innovative ways to build channel effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Leads market visits and general sales meetings, educating and engaging winery partners.

  • Coordinates direct to consumer marketing activations with the tasting room and private client sales teams.

  • Supports the development of new products and innovation strategies for the brand via the Scrum/Agile process.

  • Communicates strategies to cross functional partners & leadership on a planned and ad-hoc basis

  • Leads cross functional teams to drive portions of a project/plan working within the Scrum/Agile process.

  • Oversees the work of outside agencies.

  • Leads the I2M process for the Brand team in coordination with the scrum teams.

  • Tracks and updates A&P budget for assigned brand(s).

  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

    What You Will Need:

  • Master’s degree plus 3 years of communications, finance, marketing, military, operations, supply chain/supply planning, process development, new product development, project management, process engineering, or sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of communications, finance, marketing, supply chain/supply planning, process development, new product development, project management, process engineering, or sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of Gallo experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High School Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 9 years of communications, finance, marketing, military, operations, supply chain/supply planning, process development, new product development, project management, process engineering or sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

  • Experience effectively presenting information to top management, public groups and boards of directors.

  • Skilled in the use of MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS database at an intermediate level; IRI, Brio and Spectra at a basic level.

  • Required to spend 25% of time traveling in-market and non-headquarter based employees required to spend 50% of time traveling in-market & to company headquarters in order to conduct job duties.

  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

    What Will Set You Apart:

  • Master of Business Administration degree plus 3 years of Gallo brand marketing experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

  • Luxury marketing experience.

  • Public relations experience, particularly in fine wine.

  • Agency and/or agency management experience.

  • On premise fine wine experience.

  • Tasting Room and/or direct to consumer sales experience.

  • Possess CSW, CSS, WSET and/or CMS certifications.

  • Familiarity with the three-tiered beverage alcohol industry distribution system.

  • Multiple Gallo marketing rotations.

  • Brand marketing experience.

  • Experience training and developing junior level brand marketers in executing brand and organizational objectives.

  • Experience managing business operations and leveraging basic finance and accounting principles.

    Compensation

  • Hiring Salary Range: $95,800 - $143,600/Year.

  • Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
