Senior Substation Electrical Engineer

Job Summary

POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is seeking a senior-level electrical engineer to provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) support for our Central Region Power Delivery Substation Departments based in our Minneapolis located in Burnsville, Minnesota. This role offers flexibility with remote, hybrid, or in-office work arrangements; however, candidates must reside within a commutable distance of the office.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform QA/QC for substation project deliverables to clients across multiple offices.

  • Ensure POWER quality procedures are followed and that the team is resourced in an optimal manner.

  • Mentor less experienced staff in substation project execution.

Required Education/Experience

  • Ability to function as a Senior Substation Electrical Engineer based in our Minneapolis, Minnesota office and specializing in QA/QC

  • Experience in 15kV through 345kV physical and electrical substation design, and IEEE/ANSI standards.

  • Experience in managing 5 or more people on a project team.

  • Experience filling the role of project engineer for several projects occurring concurrently.

  • The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.

Desired Education/Experience

  • 10+ years experience in utility substation design is preferred.

  • BSEE (BS in Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS in Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, from an accredited university preferably with a power option.

  • Professional Engineering license (PE).

  • Experience with - and established positive relationships with - Central region clients.

  • Experience in 345kV through 500 kV substation design.

Base Salary Range: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.
