The Financial Support Office (FSO) Financial Management Shared Services Center (FMSSC) team is seeking highly motived and experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join our team.

The Accounts Payable Manager, as part of our End-to-End Accounts Payable Shared Service team, oversees and provides work direction to Accounts Payable staff. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in End-to-End Accounts Payable (AP E2E) scope of work. Additionally, will also be responsible for maintaining and enforcing policies and procedures, driving process improvements, and managing relationships with business partners.

The role will include a high degree of decision-making, executive visibility, business partner collaboration, advanced analysis, and support of strategic initiatives.

This is a hybrid position and onsite work is an essential function of this position, and you are expected to be in the office at least 3 days per week for meetings and team collaboration, unless directed otherwise by your supervisor.

Leadership and Staff Management:

  • Develop, motivate, and evaluate performance of staff, which includes supervising staff to identify developmental assignments and training opportunities, working with individuals on their career goals, delegating responsibilities, providing timely feedback, and evaluating performance.

  • Play a key role in the full cycle of employment matters, including but not limited to those involving hiring, retention and performance optimization, salary recommendations, and decisions related to the termination of employment, as well as the documentation of these matters.

End-to-End Accounts Payable Operations:

  • Oversee End-to-End Accounts Payable which may include processing in areas of Discretionary, Purchasing Card, Non-PO invoices.

  • Develop and monitor key metrics to drive performance.

  • Manage the design, development, and production of management reporting to all levels of management, including but not limited to audit responses, compliance reports, work related analysis, and others as assigned.

  • Provide assistance to Accounts Payable staff and respond to customer inquiries to meet FRS business needs.

  • Approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and other documents. Ensure transactions are recorded accurately, timely and in compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures. Ensure all transactions have proper approvals.

  • Collaborate with employees, other departments, and vendors to research, analyze and resolve complex issues.

  • Manage, train, and motivate employees in routine and complex processes.

  • Participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of systems, and procedures and policies to ensure adherence to FRS guidelines and policies. Includes interpreting Bank policies and implements best practices to achieve overall department objectives.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, resolving any issues or inquiries promptly.

  • Collaborate with internal business partners, such as procurement, to enhance efficiency and provide support with accounts payable processing or reporting.

  • Leads analysis, prepare and present End-to-End Accounts Payable metrics and reports to stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify and recommend changes in methods or procedures to improve efficiency of the department, including leveraging technology to automate processes.

  • Identify and recommend the creative development of innovative solutions to streamline the policies and procedures to improve the efficiency of the department.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related fields, and 9 years of related experience. Experience should include managing professional staff; interaction with multiple levels of management; and accounting processes and requirements OR

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related fields, and 7 years of related experience. Experience should include managing professional staff; interaction with multiple levels of management; and accounting processes and requirements OR

  • Master's degree in accounting, finance, or related fields, and 5 years of related experience. Experience should include managing professional staff; interaction with multiple levels of management; and accounting processes and requirements.

In addition to meeting one of the above required education and years of relevant work experience, the following are desired:

  • Previous experience with data analytics, mining, and visualization.

  • Previous project management experience.

  • Intermediate experience in MS Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with Workday and Ariba or similar.

Additional Information:

Minneapolis Full Salary Range : $111,300- $139,082- $166,900

Salary offer will be based on the location, qualifications/experience of the candidate, alignment with market data, the needs of the position, our total compensation package, and internal equity.
