Job Title: Electrical Engineer II

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer II to join our team. The ideal candidate will have proven hands-on electronic and mechanical skills, circuit debugging experience, and PCBA design and test experience. The role involves working onsite for 4 days a week and supporting a life saving implantable medical device.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute board test plans and initial execution.

  • Develop low level checkout procedures, including ohmic checks, initial power-on, and low-level register testing per PCBA.

  • Manage prototype hardware in the lab and local locations, ensuring consistent rework across all systems and directing technicians to perform this work.

  • Support software systems, including debugging issues and managing software/PL installed on the systems/PCBAs.

  • Assist with EMC test setup, both local internal prescreen and at a local test house.

  • Work closely with the PL team to test hardware interfaces and expected results.

  • Develop and test board functions, including ADC and DAC interfaces as needed.

  • Bridge external contract house systems team, DA team, and EE team on catheter simulator design.

  • Assist with PCBA testing for first units and design lab test fixtures and test boards to support functional testing for the EE and systems teams.

  • Participate in design reviews for schematics and layout.

  • Research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.

  • Minimum of one year of experience in medical device product development or equivalent.

  • Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and proven hands-on electronic/mechanical skills.

  • 2-10 years of experience with:

  • Circuit debugging experience.

  • Experience with PCBA design and testing.

  • Familiarity with standard test equipment.

  • Experience in designing fixtures.

  • Experience testing electro-mechanical systems.

  • Knowledge of IEC international standards and experience working in a regulated industry with knowledge of common applicable standards for ablation systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Altium Designer.

  • Experience with Code Beamer.

  • Design and verification of medical electrical equipment.

  • Knowledge of electrical safety and risk management standards.

  • Autonomy and ability to work independently with general supervision on larger moderately complex projects.

  • Strong communication skills to share information, status, needs, and issues with internal contacts.

  • Ability to provide guidance and assistance to entry-level professionals.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily onsite for 4 days a week. The role involves managing prototype hardware in the lab and local locations, directing technicians, and ensuring consistent rework across all systems. The position requires working closely with various teams to test hardware interfaces and expected results, as well as participating in design reviews.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $65.00/hr.
