A Packaging Specialist II is responsible for packaging and preparing butter and cheese for shipment while ensuring safe and quality products. The person appointed to this position is responsible for operating equipment that presses, packages and seals 40lb block of cheese. A Packaging Specialist II will be crossed trained in both areas for packaging. The position reports to and works closely with the shift supervisor. Excellent communication and active listening skills are needed in order to be able to coordinate with the rest of the packaging team. This position can be scheduled on all shifts. Essential Job Functions Packaging Butter and Cheese orders Calibrate scale Proper Start Up/Shut Down Set box/bag tare on scale Ensure proper program is selected Operate robot palletizer Manage sample block rotation Clear record keeping Maintain and check sell-by date application Maintain and manager Clean-In-Place (CIP) System Ensure quality requirements are met Assist in Butter Packaging Sweep and clean area Maintain GMP policy (Hand washing, hair nets, beard guards, clothing, etc.) Food Safety is everyone?s job. As part of the Minerva Dairy Team you will be expected to support the operations in food safety programs such as washing your hands, wearing clean uniforms, eating in designated areas, and arriving to work in good health and hygiene. Required Skills Must be able to lift 42 pounds repeatedly throughout shift Proven ability to deliver results Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills Ability to articulate effectively; both verbally and in writing Highly personable, trustworthy Ability to motivate staff about the importance of quality, sanitation and safety.
