State of Massachusetts PM X/Deputy Chief of Staff in Milford, Massachusetts

Duties: The Deputy Chief of Staff will assist the Chief of Staff by ensuring that the Commissioner's vision, goals, and department mission are being met. The Deputy Chief will assist with coordinating and facilitating specific strategic initiatives on the Commissioner's and Chief of Staff's agenda. The Deputy Chief of Staff will act in the Chief of Staff's absence to ensure awareness and appropriate notification on emerging issues that require the Commissioner's or Chief of Staff's input. The Deputy Chief of Staff assists with maintaining communication functions throughout state government, among the agency's staff, as well as with the public and other interested stakeholders. The Deputy Chief will research and report on all trends that are occurring within corrections, criminal justice agencies, and court decisions to advise the Chief of Staff. Performs other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications: The position requires an in-depth knowledge of corrections, state government, and media operations. The agency shall consider any incidents of sexual harassment in determining whether to hire anyone who may have contact with offenders or residents.
