SAIC Program Manager in MIDDLETOWN, Rhode Island

Description

SAIC is looking for a dynamic and innovative Program Manager in Middletown, RI with excellent management and people skills. This position will require technical acumen to assist and help to oversee a complex, multi-disciplinary engineering program in an innovative, dynamic, and dispersed work environment. Ability to articulate and communicate across all levels of program personnel up to and including senior sponsor executives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Program Manager for a critical program, the PM leads and takes ownership of all matters relating to and adherence of all contract requirements including controlling financial and administrative costs, staffing, tracking and supporting with delivery of technical contract deliverables, subcontracting, quality assurance, and other requirements as levied by the sponsor.

The PM will be responsible for financial oversight of this large Fixed Price contract. Financial oversight includes, working with the program's project controller to plan, execute and track all financial related tasks, work closely with the contracts, subcontracts, and procurement leads to acquire all program related material and services.

The PM supports the sponsor's goal to improve the lethality of the existing capability using innovative, open systems design.

The PM assists to ensure compliance with quality standards, firm fixed price delivery, and contract compliance, and notify SAIC leadership before they become issues.

This position provides the opportunity to lead a team that increases the lethality of existing systems and provides critical force protection to the program.

Other Duties:

  • Managing the finances of this large Fixed Price, technical, systems delivery contract.

  • Directing efforts of complex teams and methods, including SAIC, Sponsor, and subcontracts at multiple on-premises and remote locations.

  • Functioning as the alternate point of contact with Sponsor and representatives on project issues, engaging team resources as appropriate.

  • Driving business and staff development.

  • Routinely briefing leadership on program status, milestones, and progress against plan.

  • Developing procedures, planning and directing execution of the contractual, technical, multi-disciplinary engineering, programming, maintenance, and administrative for all program activities.

  • Manage acquisition and employment of project resources and control financial and administrative aspects of the project.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business or management-related field with a minimum eighteen (18) years of experience; Master's degree in a business or management-related field with a minimum sixteen (16) years of experience.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in DOD contracting, to include management of Fixed Price programs to include leadership positions of increasing responsibility.

  • Experience with complex technical programs to include design, production, fielding and training.

  • Experience managing and balancing prime and subcontract skill mix while ensuring coverage and corporate financial goals are met or exceeded.

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active secret security clearance.

Desired:

  • Active Project Management Institute (PMI) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification .

  • Demonstrated experience managing programs/teams of a minimum of 50 FTEs or related personnel.
