Aston Carter Reinsurance Accountant in Middletown, Connecticut

Job Title: Reinsurance Accountant

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for preparation of cession statements and remittance

• Develop and maintain relationships with reinsurers and reinsurance brokers with regards cessions/accounting

• Assist with collateral monitoring and analysis including letter of credit and related funding requirements when necessary.

• Actively participate in internal and/or external discussions on new/renewal reinsurance agreements

• Execute controls accurately.

• Prepare General Ledger Entries

• Prepare Balance Sheet Reconciliations

• Assist in preparation of Schedule F and other financial statements.

• Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.

• Additional duties as directed.

UALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

• 3+ years related insurance experience

• Property and Casualty Insurance Program experience a plus

Remote position but must be commutable to Middletown CT

REQUIRED SKILLS, KEY COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE:

• Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge

• Solid working experience with Microsoft Product Suite

• General Ledger Experience

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

• Detail and Deadline-Oriented

• Time Management skills

• Excellent Verbal Communication

• Strong analytical ability
