University of Miami Registered Nurse 2 - Radiology - Per Diem in Miami, Florida

Location: UTower

Delivers general nursing care to patients in all areas of the Radiology/Imaging Department, assesses patient condition and takes immediate action in emergency situation. Responds to patient needs before, during and after procedures including assessment of condition, cardiac arrest, intravenous problems. Performs pre, intra and post-examination assessments for angiography, CT scan and minor special procedures, including physical exam with extremity pulses, allergies, current medication and medical history which would have an adverse effect on the patient or exam and sedation analgesia. Educates patient and family about pre, intra and post procedure care. Documents care and relay information to physician and patient care unit. Follows established standards and practices under the direction of a credentialed radiologist, credentialed invasive radiologist or credentialed intravascular surgeon. A safe practitioner who continually strives to improve clinical knowledge and skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BSN degree required.

  • BLS and ACLS certifications required.

  • Current and Valid State of Florida Nursing License.

  • Minimum of one (1) year work experience in a critical care or telemetry/cardiac setting.

  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
