As the Control Room Supervisor, you will be responsible for (including but not limited to) the effective processing of ore and to direct and supervise all processing activities to ensure goals and KPIs for HSEC, Production, Conc. Grade, Quality and Cost are achieved for the Processing area. This position also supervises the execution of all planning, staffing and cost control activities related to Processing Operations. In addition, this role provides leadership and mentors team members to operate in a manner consistent with company values. The position role also provides timely and accurate reporting for the area as required. The Supervisor Control Room works with the Mill Operations Crew Supervisor to determine plans for the department. **\ \

Responsibilities Include(but are not limited to):

  • Manage and ensure all employees are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine and MSHA safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Manage and ensure all employees and contractors are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine standard operating procedures.
  • Manage and ensure that all employees and contractors are trained and certified to execute the tasks/jobs they are assigned.
  • Maintain department compliance with local, state, federal and company standards.
  • Ensure compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Build an appropriate department team through recruitment and development.
  • Work with Processing Training Coordinator to ensure that formal training is provided in accordance with the current and future needs of the department.
  • Conduct performance reviews; provide feedback and coaching for department team members.
  • Ensure professional learning objectives of the department team members are defined and met.
  • Coach and mentor department team member growth and development.
  • Provide input to the Superintendent Processing Mill Operations as required regarding the development of the overall department budget.
  • Ensure that the required manpower and equipment are in place to achieve planned activities, while meeting budgeted costs.
  • Allocate resources and define work plans to ensure activities and requirements are achieved as planned.
  • Ensure production targets are met; correct or address issues as they arise.
  • Set clear expectations and work objectives which achieve department and production targets.
  • Provide expertise, leadership and guidance to internal and external departments (as required).
  • Ensure that operational data is captured to facilitate the creation of daily, weekly and monthly production reports.
  • Implement operational programs, processes and policies to meet organizational governance requirements and standards (as required).
  • Identify options and potential actions to adopt best practices and improved practices for production.
  • Identify potential issues and collaborate with Mine and/or Processing management to prevent, mitigate or resolve them in a real-time environment.
  • Implement initiatives to optimize existing business systems, processes, practices and equipment to improve the overall performance of the function and department (as required).
  • Ensure that equipment is in good working order through proper operational practices and by coordinating maintenance activities.
  • Ensure both long-term and short-term maintenance plans and schedules are reviewed and coordinated with production demands (including Down Day planning and scheduling).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Associates degree (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong working knowledge of theories, practices, methods and procedures in processing operations and other functions.
  • Minimum of three years of Concentrator / Mill related experience in production execution areas.
  • Computer skills; Microsoft Office, Outlook.
  • Able to speak, comprehend, read, and write English
  • SAP experience a plus.

Physical Demands of the Role:

Ability to stand and walk for short durations, including walking up and down stairs and across uneven surfaces.

This role is generally 25% office environment and 75% field environment.
