F-35 Sustainment supports the worldwide deployment of the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter, the U.S. Department of Defense s largest single acquisition program. F-35 Sustainment is a dynamic and growing product area within the F-35 Solutions Product Line with a mix of classified and unclassified programs and contracts with both Lockheed Martin Aerospace and the US Government.

This Sr. Contract Administrator position in Merrimack, NH supports contracting activities within the F-35 Solutions Product Line of the Electronic Combat Solutions Business Area. The selected candidate will work a variety of contracts within the F-35 Sustainment EW product area and will help shape, grow and execute within our Depot Activation and Sustainment Modification contracts.

As a Sr. Contract Administrator, you will work with customers to shape and close business opportunities aligned with internal objectives. Work products and interactions will be at multiple levels, from your program office team to executive leadership.

Primary duties and responsibilities include:

  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge and working understanding of the US Government Acquisition and Procurement environment, the BAE Systems Contracts function and relevant company policies and procedures, commercial contracting methods, FAR/DFAR, export and other government regulations.

  • Independently lead and support proposal activities including, but not limited to analysis of solicitations, preparing summaries and developing strategies and recommendations based on the analysis, with attention to the financial and business risk of the proposed effort, participating in all proposal team meetings, preparing the terms, conditions and assumptions upon which the proposal may be submitted, reviewing the technical and pricing proposals for accuracy and consistency, conducting overall business risk analysis and preparing the proposal documents for submittal to the Customer. Responsibilities also include coordinating with other company functions as required to ensure appropriate reviews are conducted, scheduling required reviews, and obtaining required review and approval signatures prior to submittal of proposals or execution of contractual documents.

  • Research and make recommendations on proposal and contract language. Ensure that all necessary functions review recommendations and terms, with minimal direction and guidance needed from the Contracts Manager. Lead contract negotiations and collaborate with customers in definitizing and completing the contract under general guidance from the Contracts Manager.

  • Advise management of contractual rights and obligations, risk mitigation alternatives and business strategy.

  • Perform all aspects of assigned contract or purchase order processing including, but not limited to, accuracy of order entry data, contract funding, scope changes, contract amendments, receipts and delivery schedules, legal requirements and other commitments.

  • Lead or support fact-finding and other audit activities.

  • Participate in final stages of assigned contract by (1) verifying completion of all commitments, and (2) performing assigned activities associated with contract closeout.

  • Maintain logs of proposals and other data as required and assist in data collection for monthly/quarterly reporting to Management

  • Compile and maintain all required contractual records and documents in accordance with contract requirements and Company policies and procedures.

  • Primary point of contact between the Company and the Customer for all contractual matters on assigned contracts and projects including auxiliary agreements such as Proprietary Information Agreements and other business agreements.

  • Participate in the drafting and negotiation of various agreements, and coordinate any legal reviews as appropriate on behalf of the business supported.

  • Support Program managers, Product Line Directors, and Business Area leads and provide contracts advice and counsel to LOB and Company management at all levels as required

  • Develop specialized contracting knowledge in areas such as International Business, Offset and Teaming Agreements.

  • Regularly contribute to the development and implementation of new business methods, processes and contracting concepts in order to achieve business unit and Contracts Department goals and objectives. May participate as an assessor in the Phase Review Process.

  • May be required by supervisory personnel to prepare contract summaries to assure proper interpretation of the contracts(s), perform cost or price analysis and resolution of complex business issues on a special assignment basis.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

In support of the F-35 Code Red Initiative, this role will temporarily take the form of a full time on-site work format.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

  • FAR/DFAR knowledge

  • Solid interpersonal skills to engage in negotiations with others to achieve business objectives

  • Demonstrated ability to focus on closure and get results

  • Strong communication skills - both written and verbal

  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member

  • Ability to obtain US Secret Clearance

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Makes decisions using sound judgement while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principals and applicable state and federal laws and regulations

  • Experience with agreements other than contracts (ex. NDAs, bailment agreements)

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $81156 - $137964

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
