Robert Half Property Accountant in Memphis, Tennessee

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Property Accountant to join our team in Memphis, Tennessee. This role primarily involves performing commercial and multifamily property accounting activities as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and process detailed financial statements at the asset and portfolio level

• Assist in the preparation of quarterly investor reporting and distribution statements

• Collaborate with property management teams on financial plans

• Utilize working knowledge of tax structuring, and K1’s to correspond with tax consulting firm

• Manage the General Ledgers for each property and review inputs for accuracy

• Ensure debt, real estate tax, sales tax, and owner distribution payments are made in a timely manner

• Review budgets and annual year‐end recovery calculations to ensure timely completion

• Coordinate and perform quality reviews of annual CAM, Tax, and Insurance reconciliations, annual budgets, and quarterly forecasts for assigned properties

• Function as a resource to property teams to coordinate procedures and respond to accounting questions

• Coordinate cash management activities between owner and property teams

• Perform and oversee bank reconciliations and cash management

• Oversee General Ledger accounts, Accounts Receivables, journal entries, and Accounts Payables

• Provide cash flow projections and analysis of cash reserve

• Monitor and review income/property tax and insurance payments Requirements • Proficient in MS Excel

• Experienced in Property Accounting

• Knowledgeable about Property Tax

• Capable of handling Month End Close procedures

• Skilled in Financial Statement Preparation

• Experienced in Tax Preparation

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

• Relevant industry experience is a plus

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred but not required.
