About the role The Global Commodity Manager is responsible for the financial and operational performance within the purchased finished goods category. The Global Commodity Manager is accountable for all supplier selection decisions and operating performance relative to cost, quality, and delivery. The Global Commodity Manager will work collectively with Executive Management to develop a global commodity strategy to ensure alignment on selecting suppliers to execute operation plans. The Global Commodity Manager operates primarily independently but guided with input from the VP, Sourcing, Business Unit VP/GM’s, and Business Unit Product Managers. Responsibilities Ensure Quality Programs exist at all suppliers so that quality standards will meet or exceed the requirements of the product and corrective measures are implemented immediately upon notification of any failure. Perform negotiations and determine the most competitive solutions. Responsible for attaining cost reduction objectives annually. Develop, communicate, and execute comprehensive commodity strategies. Work with Leviton legal to develop and execute contracts with suppliers domestically and internationally. Lead cross-functional teams. Conduct cost out sessions with suppliers and various functional groups. Manage supplier relationships and conduct regular business performance reviews. Qualifications Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams. Skilled in analysis, finance, cash management, and supply chain. Possess a fundamental understanding of business law, with some awareness of international law. Creative and resourceful, able to think independently, problem solve, offer solutions, and generate management reports. Ability to construct value stream industry maps and utilize advanced financial techniques. Attentive to details and possess good judgement. Organized and effectively manage time. Ability to make decisions and work with various users, management, and business units. Must have effective written and verbal communication skills. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering or a bachelor's degree in a related field CPIM certification MBA preferred Minimum of 6 years’ experience At least 5 years’ experience in Sourcing with demonstrated performance and leadership competency driving strategy, operations performance results and cost management. Skilled in managing and/or leading multi-location and global projects. Global awareness with the knowledge of international companies and their countries business practices.
