The Painter will be a member of the Assembly department in our precision metal fabrication facility supporting the aerospace and defense industries. We are looking for someone with strong painting experience in the military or aerospace industry. Someone with knowledge of different types of finishes such as epoxies, oil base, latex, lacquer, fillers, stains, shellac and enamels.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Insures parts are clean prior to primer and paint application.
Responsible for proper operation of paint equipment.
Responsible for proper operation of oven equipment.
Mix and measure all types of paint per supplier requirements.
Spray all types of primers and paints per customer requirements.
Inventory and shelf life control of paint and supplies.
Maintain proper paint mixing times, viscosity and shelf life of the paint.
Document and complete required paperwork.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED required.
3-5 years experience preferably with aerospace/military industries but will consider automotive.
Prior knowledge of painting or completed a successful comparable training program
Working knowledge of spray guns and pressure pots
Able to read customer specifications
Able to understand Job Order Routers and Bill of Materials (BOM)
Able to read blueprints, preferred
Some light physical effort required; frequent lifting up to 15#; infrequent up to 50#
Standing 100% of time
