MORGAN COUNTY Nursing Director-Preventative Health in MCCONNELSVILLE, Ohio

Employment Category: Full-Time Hours: 32 hours per week, 8:00-4:00 occasional evening and weekend hours may be required. Pay Range: Based on experience.     Grant Funded: Partial Benefits: Benefit package includes enrollment in Ohio Public Employees Retirement System, vacation, sick leave, and holiday benefits. Essential Duties:

  • Manages nursing programs including Children with Medical Handicaps; CommunicableDisease Surveillance; Investigation and Mitigation; Immunization Clinic using 317, VFC,and private purchase vaccines; serves as Primary Vaccine Coordinator & assists withclaim submission; TB testing; Hearing & Vision Screenings; Pregnancy Testing; HealthScreenings; Child Fatality Review coordination; and the Morgan Local Schools FamilyLiaison program.
  • Serves as local Medical Reserve Corps unit leader.
  • Trains MCHD staff on HIPAA compliance and bloodborne pathogens.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and community partners to improve both diseasereporting and immunization rates.
  • Manages any grants received for preventative nursing programs and collaborates onpursuing additional programs and
  • Participates in the accreditation process as it relates to nursing. This includes acquiringknowledge of PHAB domains and policy development.
  • Assists the Administrator in formulating and administering organizational policies anddeveloping long range goals and objectives including successful implementation ofMorgan County Health Department (MCHD) Strategic Plan Goals.
  • Provides data & reports for Administrator review regarding progress on goals

Minimum Experience/Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse license (RN) as issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing preferred
  • 5 years prior experience in public health preferred
  • Basic life support certification
  • ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800 training or ability to complete ICS training within 6months of hire.
  • Must have a valid Ohio driver's license with ongoing proof of auto insurance and be ableto travel with reliable transportation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Mathematical aptitude necessary to assist in developing program budgets and monitoringexpenditures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
