SUMMARY

Performs tasks that require mainly physical abilities and effort involving little or no specialized skill or prior work experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Loads and unloads trucks, and other conveyances, moves supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrow or hand truck, etc.

  • Stacks materials for storage or binning, collects refuse and salvageable materials.

  • Digs, fills, and tamps earth excavations, levels the ground using pick, shovel, tamper, and rake.

  • Shovels concrete and snow; cleans culverts and ditches; cuts tree and brush; operates power lawnmowers.

  • Moves and arranges heavy pieces of office and household furniture, equipment, and appliances.

  • Moves heavy pieces of automotive, medical engineering, and other types of machinery and equipment.

  • Spreads sand and salt on icy roads and walkways and picks up leaves and trash.

  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma required.

  • One (1) year experience as a Laborer desired.

  • Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Flexibility in scheduling work hours and available for occasional travel.

  • May be required to work extended workdays frequently. Overtime compensation established by local SCA regulations, if applicable.

TRAVEL

The expected travel time is less than 50%

DRIVING REQUIREMENT

Must obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable by the company’s insurance carrier.

Driving will be required to drive aboard and between bases. The expected driving time may be up to 50%.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Position consists of standing for long periods of time, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting boxes weighing up to 50 pounds. Frequently uses hands/fingers for handling, to work with such hand tools as lawn equipment, outdoor tools, shovels, wrenches, screwdrivers, wire cutters, pliers, and soldering irons. Seeing up close. WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily performed outdoors but may also be performed in a maintenance facility as well as in outdoor military training areas. Work is often performed in adverse conditions including inclement weather such as high humidity, heat, cold, high wind, rain, and various local conditions. Our mission is to train US Marines; therefore, we work side by side with them in all climates and conditions.

Employee may be exposed to sharp objects and may be exposed to some heat, loud noise, chemicals, lead and vibration. Katmai strictly adheres to the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHA) regulations. Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory if applicable. Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.

WORK SCHEDULE

40 hours per week. May be required to work overtime hours as needed to complete assignment or project. May require flexible work schedule.
