ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain their active membership in the AF Reserve unit where assigned. ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month. Responsibilities The primary purpose of this position is as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position is to review policies, methods and procedures of maintenance/supply interface; and brief the Group Commander/Senior ART, branch supervisors, and other personnel on changes/requirements in correlation with base-wide supply meetings. Additionally, provides training to reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein. DUTIES: Inspects and evaluates supply management activities, giving guidance, and recommending corrective action. Researches and verifies all aircraft priority requests. Determines need for individual and group training, and arranges for facilities, training aids, and instructors. Plans, directs, and conducts job proficiency training of personnel in techniques, policies, and procedures employed in manual and automated supply inventory systems. Determines and forecasts supply requirements for long and short range maintenance programs. Establishes and adjusts supply point and bench stock Maintains aggressive supply discipline. Updates aircraft MICAP status boards twice daily and notifies the Logistic Readiness Squadron (LRS) base MICAP section when cannibalization occurs Maintains supply records/files/lop and prepares original letters, reports, and messages for supervisory review and signature In support of unit's supply requirements. Maintains aircraft discrepancy file and MICAP AF Form 2414, Verification Worksheet Orders all TCTO kits/parts/tools for maintenance. Verifies accuracy of stock number(s) and recision date. Delivers AF Forms 2001 to the Base TCTO Monitor. Maintains an active TCTO file containing the TCTO, a copy of the F Form 2001, and DD Form 1348-1. Verifies status of aircraft for implementing kit withdrawals. Operates the Integrated Maintenance Data System, which provides on-line access to a data base containing organization, equipment, Mission, and status date. Updates appropriate data base as events occur. Provides current supply status, including 4ocument number, quantity ordered, quantity received, and work unit code for each part ordered. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge and use of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, instructions and an intensive knowledge of local supply requirements to ensure support production, overhaul, repair or other operations for urgent, critical shortage and other special items. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-inĀ­-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:Knowledge of governing supply histructions, procedures, guidelines, and regulations applicable to specific assignments or functional areas. Knowledge of supply support procedures, equipment management, stock control, and mobility account procedures. Knowledge of standard supply management procedures applicable to specific assignments or functional area Ability to use and maintain a computer system and supply software. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Skill in resolving logistics supply problems. Ability to maintain good working relationships. Other significant facts pertaining to this position are: This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Work schedule Will be aligned to allow the incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies (UTAs). The incumbent's regular assignments are ART duties; however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to acted 30 percent of total responsibilities. May be required to fly in commercial and military aircraft to perform temporary/permanent duty assignments. Performs other related duties as assigned. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are eligible for 15 days active duty tour each year for which military leave is granted with full civilian pay. Air Reserve units and members; are subject to immediate call to active duty in mobilization to meet a national emergency.
