Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
As part of our maintenance team, you will install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, and physical plant systems.
Responsibilities
Visually inspect machinery and equipment, troubleshoot, and repair as needed.
Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other machine components.
Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
Repair plumbing and piping systems, including air and hydraulic.
Repair and maintain physical plant systems.
Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
Carpentry experience is a plus.
Essential Skills
High school diploma.
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
Knowledge of general preventative maintenance activities.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and fluid equipment.
Certified in forklift operations.
Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
Punctuality and excellent attendance.
Ability to wear PPE equipment including a respirator.
Provide one’s own basic hand tools.
Flexibility to work overtime including weekends and holidays if necessary.
Physically demanding role with strenuous, sometimes repetitive physical work such as climbing and lifting objects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Trade or technical school certification or equivalent- Preferred.
3 to 6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bilingual is a plus.

Work Environment
The shift is from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with two breaks. Employees are expected to arrive 5 minutes early for a mandatory 7:00 AM meeting. The first 3 weeks will involve heavy training, shadowing, and watching, depending on how quickly the person picks up the job. The position is physically demanding, requiring the ability to perform strenuous, sometimes repetitive physical work such as climbing and lifting objects.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $29.00/hr.
