What Is the Opportunity?

Here at Travelers we are currently looking for a Claims Relationship Specialist with a focus on motor, property, and casualty to join our team on a permanent basis based in our Manchester office. This brilliant opportunity will allow you to build upon your claims experience.

As a Claims Relationship Specialist, you will be out and about speaking face to face and conference calling with our clients, so strong and confident communication is a key aspect of this role.

Travelers Europe currently offers flexibility to employees who wish to work on a hybrid basis in accordance with our Hybrid Work Arrangements Policy. This entails full time employees working three days a week in the office and two days at home (or pro rata for part-time employees). This policy may be changed at the Company’s discretion.

On a day to day basis you will be;

  • Securing new business and retaining existing business.

  • Helping to develop and deliver the UK Broker strategy to support Travelers Branch operations and growth targets.

  • Helping to input and develop a claims service strategy and claims propositions.

  • Recommending enhancements in process efficiency.

  • Monitor service performance; liaise with Underwriters, Claims and Risk Control to provide information on claims activity and trends and any servicing issues.

  • Work with Claims Business Line Managers, Underwriters and Business Development Managers in the acquisition and retention of profitable business.

  • Attend New Business Presentations to provide details of the Travelers claims service offering and establish the best claims handling solution.

  • Works with and supports other Claim relationship managers where appropriate to ensure claim value proposition is consistent across Travelers Europe.

  • Represents claims in internal and external meetings with Customers as required and takes accountability to commit the Claims Department to an agreed approach which meets the Customers needs.

This role will require travel over the UK and Dublin to meet with clients, so flexibility in your schedule will be required when requested.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

As well as being a strong communicator, we are looking for a quick thinking and solution driven candidate that has the client front and centre of what they do. Experience of managing key client accounts, addressing trends and issues affecting their business and mitigating risks and exposures, is essential to this role.

  • Thorough technical claims expertise in one or preferably more classes of business (motor, property, and casualty).

  • Experienced team player with positive attitude and effective engagement skills equally adept at working on own and within a team.

  • Experience of external presentations and pitches desirable.

  • Solid business acumen and ability to understand; numbers, operational metrics and business performance.

What is a Must Have?

  • Experience managing key client accounts, addressing trends and issues affecting their business and mitigating risks and exposures as required.
