Vanguard Senior Strategy Manager, Enterprise Finance in Malvern, Pennsylvania

Vanguard is hiring a Senior Strategy Manager, Enterprise Finance to lead two critical functions: 1) development and oversight of the enterprise Scorecard that sets strategy, guides organizational priorities, and monitors progress for senior leadership & the Board; and 2) development and oversight of the Investment Governance process that manages the company's portfolio of internal investments (e.g., to drive revenue, create scale, enhance CX, reduce risk). This role ensures the investments' alignment with strategic priorities, evaluates the benefits & costs of the opportunities, and coordinates decision-making and performance-tracking across the organization.
The role will help ensure optimal capital allocation across the enterprise and will work closely with Enterprise Finance, FP&A more broadly, Corporate Strategy, and the various business units. There will be meaningful opportunities for exposure with senior leaders.
Responsibilities:
Develops, manages, and leads the balanced scorecard that measures organizational health against strategic priorities.
Conducts competitive analyses to understand positioning, to inform opportunities, and to support decision making.
Develops frameworks for capital deployment that supports strategic priorities across the enterprise.
Governs enterprise internal investment portfolio, ensuring consistent standards, properly set targets, and transparency in progress.
Supports business case analysis for investment initiatives. Assesses the market and competitors to guide investment decisions and advise on market trends.
Supports financial planning processes, annual operating plan, and long-term strategic plan.
Manages wide and complex set of senior stakeholders.
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Eight years related work experience, with at least Three years financial analysis experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Finance or Economics degree preferred. Graduate degree preferred.
Requirements for success are: stakeholder management (building relationships, anticipating needs, having an organized approach); communication & story telling (orally and through slide development); conceptual and analytical thinking to evaluate complex problems, synthesize and connect information, and to drive new ideas; managing ambiguity; and having a curiosity to learn.
Prior backgrounds in management consulting, corporate strategy or other strategy functions, corporate development, and/or FP&A are preferred.
