The Director, Digital Product Management for SmartHQ Pro will lead efforts across the SmartHQ Pro Platform (SmartHQ Service, SmartHQ Management, and Commercial Laundry) to create a software-centric roadmap for all the components that can be executed across multiple customer channels and product platforms to increase business owner efficiencies. Utilizing a customer-first mindset, agile principles and a strong understanding of both hardware and software interaction, this role will work closely with the sales, marketing, cloud, mobile, service, technology and product teams to develop and implement B2B digital strategies and features that enhance our ability to compete across all our customer channels. This role will collaborate across teams and use continuous improvement to advance the platform to meet the changing needs of our current customer base, as well as develop new functionality for new channel development and customer expansion. Ultimately, the Director of SmartHQ Pro will translate the needs of the customer and business into digital opportunities with a focus on improving operational efficiencies and profitability for our customer’s business, while driving lifetime value, brand reputation and business growth. This role reports directly to the Executive Director, Smart Home and Energy Solutions ME, and is responsible for helping to drive the B2B vision and goals of the micro-enterprise.

How You'll Create Possibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic Vision and Roadmap Development

  • Drive scalable platform features/functions, service strategies and long-term vision to build best in class enterprise platform for SmartHQ Pro and expand it’s capabilities into new channels and environments.

  • Develop and execute a software-centric approach that ensures the platform and services are extensible across sales channels, micro-enterprises, and larger businesses.

  • Leverage the catalog of Smart Home capabilities and hardware to deliver speed to market, drive ecosystem revenue growth, maximize customer retention, and improve SmartHQ Pro profitability.

  • Grow and manage the portfolio of smart devices to support the platform's expansion into new channels and business models.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Partnership

  • Collaborate with commercial, operations, and service teams to scale and grow the SmartHQ Pro enterprise-wide software as a service platform, creating differentiating value for GE Appliances and our customers.

  • Partner with commercial, mobile, embedded, UI/UX, and cloud resources to scope and prioritize activities, manage the roadmap and backlog, and ensure timely and accurate delivery of all capabilities.

  • Engage with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on feature development, prioritization, and execution, while identifying potential issues and solutions

  • Work closely with marketing to develop positioning and messaging that ensures differentiation from competitors.

  • Collaborate with other product managers to identify future enhancements, global software features, and digital ecosystem revenue opportunities.

Customer Insights and User Experience

  • Evaluate, analyze, and understand the voice of the customer through various data sources, translating insights into actionable user experiences.

  • Conduct user research and usability studies, collaborating with designers, developers, and research teams to translate findings into user stories that support intuitive platform experiences and drive operational efficiencies and profitability.

  • Monitor and evaluate platform functions and app performance to create test-and-learn opportunities, assess customer feedback, and work with cross-functional teams to execute or pivot as necessary.

Continuous Improvement

  • Utilize agile principles that support driving additional value for our owners and develop new capabilities, partners and business models around them.

  • Oversee and manage requirements discovery, solution design, user story writing, feature development, and user acceptance testing.

Ecosystem and Technology Integration

  • Identify external ecosystems and coordinate digital partnership opportunities through cloud services, SDKs, and APIs to maximize ecosystem benefits.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to identify new technology applications that can integrate with multiple data sources, creating new business solutions and revenue opportunities for our customers and business.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in digital product management or a similar role.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment with strong organizational skills and the ability to build collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Exceptional communication skills with a responsive and proactive approach.

  • Flexible and adept at handling commercial and operational activities to support the growth and development of the platform, meeting the dynamic needs of the marketplace and customers.

  • Experience working in an Agile environment.

  • Strong analytical, prioritization, and negotiation skills.

  • Experience in usability and customer-focused design.

  • Working knowledge of digital architecture development, including both back-end and front-end development.

  • Hardware and Software development or integration experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, or similar field is preferred.

  • Digital Lifecycle Management and Solutions– Development of both specific and broad enterprise implementations.

  • Experience using product management tools such as Zenhub, Jira, Etc.

  • Experience writing SQL queries, experience with back-end and front-end programming languages, such as Java, HTML, CSS, Angular JS

  • Experience developing and integrating SaaS platforms into enterprise systems

Working Conditions

  • Up to 30% travel required for domestic travel.

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.

  • Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. on an occasional basis.
