As the Administrative Assistant II with the Department of Cardiodiagnostics

you are responsible for scheduling patient appointments, managing billing and

coordinating with physicians, nurses, and echo technicians for the Ronald

Reagan and Santa Monica Hospitals. Primary scheduling responsibilities will be for

the echo/stress laboratory. You will ensure all patient information, orders and

payments are correctly processed, confirm appointments and also registrations. You

will be expected to compile monthly reports, handle patient and physician

requests and order department supplies. The Administrative Assistant must

communicate effectively with all stakeholders and support departmental

computerized systems while working independently and interdependently under

general direction from supervisors and managers within the department.

Salary: $25.60 - $36.33 Hourly

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of EPIC/Careconnect - strongly preferred

  • Familiarity with physician office billing procedures - strongly preferred

  • Ability to communicate effectively with medical, nursing and administrative personnel, regulatory agencies and study sponsors

  • Ability to work flexible hours

  • Demonstrated basic knowledge of physician office policies and procedures

  • Demonstrated computer skills including word-processing, use of spreadsheets and data entry

  • Familiarity with physician office billing procedures

  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology

  • Skill and experience in composing clear and understandable written memos and reports using correct grammar

  • Skill and experience in operating office machines including hospital based computer systems

  • Skill in communicating with patients, families and referring physicians with diplomacy

  • Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely and accurate manner

  • Superior typing skills to prepare correspondence, reports and other written materials with speed and accuracy
