Energy Management Submetering Specialist (Quadlogic Controls Corporation dba Quadlogic Controls Corporation Powered by Metergy) (Long Island City, NY): Determine electricity bulk rate calculations based on building utility charge and master meter usage utilizing knowledge of regulations regarding utility billing and submetering for various gas, water, and electric utility invoices. Ensure electric submetering billing calculations comply with set tariffs and remain below applicable rate cap set by the regulatory standards from New York Public Service Commission (PSC), based on published utility energy pricing rates and based on NYC and Long Island supply and delivery, prorated as per usage/number of days. Use Dynamics Billing software for automated data collection and processing, and Power BI for creating variance, summary, and Ad Hoc reports. Calculate any utility allowance credits as per housing assistance programs and/or Home Energy Fair Practices Act (HEFPA) regulations, and Budget Billing or Levelized Payment amount to reduce fluctuations in charges due to seasonal patterns of consumption. Create daily usage graphs using Visual FoxPro software and review patterns to identify need for performance testing and/or replacement of defective meters. Considering seasonal variance, compare usage differences and/or extremities over a monthly and/or yearly time lapse utilizing various metrics generated by Power BI. Analyze year-over-year usage patterns, incorporating historical daily temperature data, from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Climate Data Online and use results to verify variances or identify discrepancies in need of further investigation. Perform data anomaly detection and outlier analysis to identify billing improprieties. Liaise with Energy Management Companies, Property Management Companies and Building Owners/Developers to assist them in complying with the New York City regulatory energy requirements including Local Laws 92/94, 84/95, 96, and 97. Create service program offerings for Energy Management Companies, Property Management Companies and Building Owners/Developers, including utility benchmarking, property audit and evaluation, energy efficiency and carbon abatement projects, tenant engagement, compliance reporting and other operational performance reporting with a focus on submetering solutions to solve data creation needs. Create custom data gathering and reporting solutions for and assist with utility incentive program applications. Gather and provide data for benchmark calculations and reporting of utility consumption from whole building operations to individual tenant level data. Optimize peak demand management utilizing energy, water consumption, and utility management tools and data. Provide outreach, technical assistance and guidance for effectively communicating to nontechnical audiences including existing clients and marketing leads. In order to perform the above-mentioned tasks, the following skills and experience are required: 12 months of experience with NY Public Service Commission-set tariff cap rate-matching and HEFPA credit applicability. 12 months of experience with Dynamics Billing for producing energy invoices, Power BI for creation of variance, summary, and Ad Hoc reporting, Visual FoxPro for graph creation. 12 months with use of data anomaly detection and outlier analysis to identify billing improprieties 12 months with analyzes of usage patterns, incorporating historical daily temperature data, from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Climate Data Online. Requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Environmental Science and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or as Budget Analyst (Energy Utilization Analysis).
