Pay Rate:
The pay rate for this job is $16 / Hour
What you'll be doing as a Direct Support Personnel Worker:
Responsible for transporting individuals to designated facility location
Responsible for individuals within the assigned area and throughout facility during scheduled work hours
Responsible for assisting individuals with self-care needs
Conduct individual and group programs/activities according to the needs of the area
Communicate necessary, accurate, and objective information verbally and in writing to appropriate person(s)
Complete reports accurately; Read and comprehend documents, record data and perform simple mathematics
Assists program manager in developing schedule of activities and getting necessary supplies
Assists with the development of task analysis, job modifications, training, and vocational goals for consumer employment in community settings
Advocates for and develops positive relationships with community-based employers, ensuring work is completed to their satisfaction
Makes daily entries for accurate bookkeeping of consumer payroll and attendance;
Available shifts:
Shift timings - 1st Shift (Day)
Job requirements:
Must have a High School Diploma or GED
Must possess a current valid Minnesota Driver's License and have been consistently driving for three or more years
Experience with individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities and/or mental health issues is preferred
Must receive a "not disqualified" status as result of a Minnesota Department of Human Services background study
Must follow provisions of the Vulnerable Adult Act including licensing and certifications
Must not have a history of or current physical limitations that would prevent carrying out essential functions of the job
Must have ability to lift, move and position non-ambulatory individuals
Must be able to bend, lift and stand for long periods of time
Must be able to enter/exit vehicles to assist individuals
Ability to follow EEI therapeutic procedures and protocols
Ability to respond physically and therapeutically to highly-anxious and/or combative consumers
Ability to implement and accurately chart individual program objectives
Ability to respond to medical emergencies, including providing first aid and CPR
Must be able to safely operate passenger vehicle
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
Ability to read instructions, program plans, and policies and act accordingly as specified in written materials
