What You’ll Do

The Field Service Manager role requires a highly motivated and process-oriented individual to lead a team which installs, troubleshoots, and services the security checkpoint systems. The Field Service Manager works at REMPREX HQ and the intermodal train yards supported by REMPREX Technology Service to maintain proper system functionality.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the REMPREX Field Service Technician and Engineer team

  • Work hand in hand with the team to provide solutions to ongoing issues within the client sites.

  • Develop solutions and assist with sourcing hardware required for break/fix

  • Create and update standardized processes as technology evolves

  • Audit work of the Field Service Technicians and Engineers

  • Assist with assets management by ordering and tracking spare parts

  • Travel throughout the US and Canada up to 20% of the time

  • Ensure Service staff operates within a world-class safety atmosphere

  • Build AGS technical training sessions to various service contractors throughout the US and Canada

  • Support REMPREX Field Service Technicians on issues requiring escalation

  • Assist in building out daily and future preventative maintenance visits

  • Coordinate sub-contractor service calls and ensure notation of work completed is submitted

  • Build technical estimates and ensure clients are properly billed for services

  • Maintain documentation on new and existing hardware, troubleshooting, and best practice for the Field Service Technician position

  • Audit technical tickets and work orders for proper technical documentation

  • Continually build and maintain training plans for new hires for the Field Service Technician position

  • Create quick references for contractor parts replacements

  • Work directly with clients to overcome service-related challenges

  • Maintain a high quality of service by meeting client SLAs

  • Perform within a pre-set budget, while monitoring the Service Department’s P&L

  • Utilize NetSuite, Stampli, and Ramp for oversite of team expense

What You’ll Need

Required:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of specialized work experience that demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic, electrical, or electro-mechanical systems and equipment

  • Technical Education or equivalent work experience in electronics or computers

  • Basic knowledge of networking including ping, DHCP, and IP addresses

  • Demonstrated experience in reading, interpreting, and drawing electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical schematics

  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and installing low-voltage DC electronics, electro-mechanical systems, and closed-circuit television monitors, cameras, and switches.

  • Ability to pass a federal background check and obtain e-RAILSAFE and PERC certifications

  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced transportation environment with changing priorities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft® Applications and general knowledge of Microsoft® Office®

  • Driver’s license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)

  • Excellent customer communication skills, verbal and written

Location

The Field Service Manager works in an office environment working closely and communicating with others at our corporate office Lisle, IL. This is a hybrid management role reporting to our corporate office three days per week and two days working remotely.

To perform this job's essential functions, an employee must be able to meet the physical demands of the role including but not limited to:

  • Ability to work from heights including catwalks, bucket trucks, and extension ladders

  • Ability to perform manual installation operations including hammer drilling, pulling wire, and terminating wire

  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

  • Ability work in facilities near high volumes of semi-truck traffic
