Job Description Summary
As a Staff Electronics Engineer, you will provide support to R&D projects for existing products and product expansions. A deep passion for creating and innovating while working in a fast-paced environment is fundamental to the core functions of this job. The staff electrical engineer must be able to understand the system cross-functionally to help facilitate architectural discussions at a modular and systematic level. The ideal candidate will wear multiple hats and work with core team members across engineering and project disciplines. You will support the establishment and development of the Pharmacy Automation business unit at RCI.

Main responsibilities will include:
Provide technical leadership across the R&D Hardware group over multiple projects simultaneously
Actively participate and provide guidance in the development efforts to transition concept to product development
Iterate on a rapid time scale in an agile environment to take modules and systems to increased levels of dependability
Actively communicate with internal and external cross-functional partners to define design inputs and outputs that drive hardware architecture
Decompose system requirements into subsystem or electrical specifications
Develop and execute test documentation for electrical verification and compliance testing
Collaborate cross-functionally to solve complex problems under time sensitive deadlines
Conceptualize and compare design options
Interact with hardware suppliers to ensure design for manufacturability, testability and overall reliability
Generates schematic and related files that are ready for PCB layout
Drive PCB layout to the release of a PCBA fabrication package using Allegro Cadence
Apply theoretical and hands-on electrical support to identify problems and accomplish tasks
Develop and execute test documentation for electrical design verification
Understand and follow BD processes, design practices, and documentation templates
Perform and/or direct engineering documentation in SAP: create/change material, BOM, plans, and reports; process change orders; and design reviews
About you
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical engineering or equivalent plus at least 10 years of related experience
Skills and attributes
Strong collaborator, good communication skills with ability to manage cross-functional collaboration, and ability to manage by influence
Track record of working successfully in a rapidly changing environment with high levels of uncertainty
User-centered design mentality
Basic knowledge of PCB and PCBA design
Experience with laboratory tools: oscilloscope, DMM, variable DC power supply, etc.
Experience with troubleshooting of electromechanical devices
Basic knowledge of product safety and compliance design and testing
Experience with systems engineering is a plus
System architecture design is a plus
Experience with agile frameworks and its application to hardware development is a plus
Expertise on testing and troubleshooting EMI
Analog design and troubleshooting related to electromechanical devices
Digital and firmware design and troubleshooting related to microcontrollers
Basic software design using C++/C#
Basic wired connectivity and communication with emphasis on LAN, RS485, I2C, and SPI.
Basic wireless connectivity and communication with emphasis on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
Basic understanding and implementation of RFID
Knowledge in the use of the laboratory tools: oscilloscope, DMM, variable DC power supply, etc.
Knowledge in the use of the computer tools: schematic capture, board layout, simulation, etc
