Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Description

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be a key player in our office operations. Your responsibilities will include greeting visitors, answering phones, managing mail distribution, scheduling office vendors, and ordering supplies. You'll also handle a high volume of payable invoices, ensuring accurate approvals and job costing, and scan documents for electronic filing. Additionally, you will issue purchase orders, reconcile vendor statements, address discrepancies, respond to payment status inquiries, process weekly check runs, and enter ACH payments in our accounting system. Maintaining payment tracking spreadsheets, onboarding new vendors, managing credit applications, and collecting updated Certificates of Insurance from vendors are also crucial parts of your role. You will perform other duties as required to support our accounting team.

Hard Skills

  • 3+ years of full cycle AP experience

  • Construction industry experience preferred

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Lees Summit, Missouri.

Work Environment

This role is based 100% in-office in Lees Summit with typical hours from 8-5, offering some flexibility if needed. You will join a friendly team of 6 in the accounting department and sit at the front desk to greet customers and handle light traffic, which constitutes about 10% of the job.
