LAREDO - CITY OF Building Maintenance Worker (B254010-2) in LAREDO, Texas

: Assists with general maintenance and cleaning for buildings and grounds. Performs semi-skilled work to support facilities including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and other repairs.

: ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.* - Performs general building and grounds maintenance work; cleans, disinfects, and maintains restrooms; maintains equipment used to perform work. - Paints walls and fixtures; moves chairs and tables to set-up special group meetings and trainings. - Assists in the maintenance of air-conditioners and heating systems in accordance with accepted practices and procedures; performs minor electrical and plumbing repairs. - Performs carpentry activities including painting and masonry work as needed. - Will be required to drive City for City business use. - Performs related work as required. WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS Physical Effort Requirements Position will have the following exposures - Office or similar indoor environment, relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. - Occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Occasional outside work. - Frequent exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Majority of work performed outside or with exposure to risk. - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentar criteria are met. - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
