American Battery Solutions New Product Introduction Buyer Intern in Lake Orion, Michigan

American Battery Solutions is now hiring a New Product Introduction Buyer Intern this summer for a 12-week assignment in Lake Orion, MI. Job Summary: The New Product Introduction Buyer Intern is engaged in the research and development of new suppliers and commodity strategies for battery pack systems. This individual will complete a 12-week project identifying new suppliers and comparing cost, quality, delivery and benchmarking competitive designs for cooling plates, enclosure assemblies, ICB Trays, and wire harnesses with a PowerPoint presentation given to leadership at end of internship. This individual interfaces with American Battery Solutions (ABS) purchasing, supplier development, supply chain, and engineering to send Request For Quotes (RFQs), assess and develop new suppliers for battery packs. Responsibilities: * Develop strategy presentation for top spend commodities on enclosures, cooling plates, ICB tray modules, Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA), wire harness, and busbars. * Complete of 12-week project PowerPoint presentation on enclosure, coating, and cooling plate suppliers at the end of internship with supplier list, SWOT analysis, cost comparison, waterfall chart of cost drivers, and risk analysis for ABS to use for future sourcing activities. * Research and introduce new suppliers to ABS new programs. * Assist Supplier Development Engineer (SDE) in obtaining supplier assessments of new suppliers. * Report the progress of tasks on a regular basis. * Adhere to federal and state regulations. * Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures. * Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. * Predictable and reliable attendance. Position Qualifications: * Undergraduate student working towards a Supply Chain, Psychology, Business Administration, or other relevant degree. * Must be able to work a minimum of 30 hours per week up to a maximum of 40 hours per week. * Minimum of 3.0 GPA required to enter the program. * Must be actively enrolled in school. * Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks. * Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
