McLaren Health Care Human Resources Generalist - McLaren Careers in Lake Orion, Michigan
Location: Lake Orion
Full Time Day: 8am to 4:30pm
In office position (no remote work)
Position Summary:
Responsible for providing support to leadership and staff employees in functional areas of human resources including Employee/Labor relations, New employee onboarding, and HRIS administration, following departmental policies and procedures, and federal and state regulations.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Serves as the primary contact person for managers and employees concerning HR policies & procedures.
Assists others in the interpretation and application of HR policies, procedures, and labor contracts.
Responsible for union grievances and supports the arbitration process.
Conducts investigations and recommends appropriate action in areas of alleged misconduct.
Responsible for new employee onboarding and coordinating new hire orientation
Educates new employees on HR policies and procedures.
Conducts exit interviews to determine reasons for separation
Participates in departmental special projects
Performs related duties as required.
Required:
Associate degree plus 2 years’ experience or Bachelor’s degree
Labor relations experience
Preferred:
- SPHR or PHR certification
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills in demanding situations.
Sound decision making and critical thinking skills
General understanding of wage and salary administration
Labor relations experience
