Performs receptionist, general secretarial and clerical work to relieve others of a wide variety of tasks and administrative detail. This position is distinguished from lower-level classes by the complexity of the work, greater variety of tasks of a more responsible nature and the requirement for understanding of the interrelationship of the various procedures associated with the Section 8 Voucher, Public Housing, and Housing Authority owned and managed programs. REQUIREMENTS: * Graduation from High School or GED equivalent. * Satisfactory completion of secretarial/clerical training and 12 months employment in a secretarial/clerical position; or 2 years secretarial/clerical employment. * Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training which demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties may be substituted for the above. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Considerable knowledge of different filing systems, general office principles, practices and procedures. Knowledge of office record keeping and reporting principles. * Plan and organize work assignments: establish priorities and meet operational deadlines. * Exercise good judgment, courtesy, and tact in staff, public and client contacts; understand and deal with problems encountered by the wide range of socioeconomic program participants. * One year social/public employment in client service desirable. DUTIES: * Performs receptionist, general secretarial, and clerical work in relationship to the daily operations of the organization. Requires understanding of the interrelationship of various procedures associated with the Housing Choice Voucher program and organization\'s owned and managed programs. * Answers phone and routes calls. Greets visitors in a professional and courteous manner, provides assistance, or directs clients to appropriate staff members. * Types varied materials including forms, letters, confidential records, and reports from rough drafts, notes or instructions. * Maintain and organize complex filing system of various records. * Photo copy records, forms, information, etc. * Answer routine inquiries and provides general information. Apply knowledge of programs, procedures, and agency functions. * Work effectively with the Board of Commissioners and Resident Advisory Board, including attending meetings, recording and preparing minutes, notices, and scheduling of meetings. Mail out meeting information and annually updates policies. * Responsible for outgoing and incoming mail which includes purchasing and recording postage. * Maintains organization\'s online presence, including social media page(s) and website. * Uses computer, typewriter, fax, copier and calculator in connection with duties. * Prepare office for the beginning/end of business day, which includes maintaining copy machine, keeping track of supplies and various forms, and opening and closing of the office. * Organize and facilitate quarterly staff meetings. * Assist with/write grants. * Other duties as assigned.
