Job Title: Public Affairs & Patient Advocacy Manager

Location: Ukraine, Kyiv

About the role:

Public Affairs and Patient Advocacy Manager drives and advocates Takeda as a healthcare partner for policy makers, payers and patient advocacy organizations to advance standards of care and access. This position is responsible to support government affairs strategies and cultivate relations with government, key opinion leaders and other relevant stakeholders.

This position also leads strategic partnership with patient advocacy organizations through collaborations that advance patient goals and outcomes.

Additionally, Public Affairs and Patient Advocacy Manager plans and carry out external and internal corporate communications projects in coordination with key LOC and/or Area functions.

How you will contribute:

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Establish and cultivate relationships and engagement with pivotal stakeholders: payers, policy makers, government officials, patient advocacy organizations and non-governmental organizations

  • Execute public sector strategies that are aligned with Takeda strategy and goals

  • Ensure setting up projects that will increase standard of care and access to medicines for patients in respective Takeda therapeutic areas

  • Identify opportunities to partner with external stakeholders and decision makers at national and regional level that leads to recognition of the value of Takeda products

  • Ensure timely collection of information, data, trends on healthcare environment across Cluster and assessment of possible impact on Takeda business

  • Utilize insights from key stakeholders and identify opportunities for access solutions and business goals

  • Explore opportunities for strategic collaborations with government and non-governmental entities.

  • Lead and sustain strategic partnerships with patient advocacy organization by identifying and addressing patient unmet needs

  • Plan and execute insight-based patient advocacy strategies to improve patient out-comes in target therapeutic areas

  • Work closely with key functions to develop and implement the organization’s overall communication activities and campaigns aligned with global strategies

  • Partner with Area/Regional communications teams to ensure alignment and consistency with global messages and be accountable of localization when necessary

Critical Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of Ukrainian healthcare environment and legislation

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct policy research, analyze complex data, and communicate findings effectively to diverse audiences

  • Ability to assess and articulate the business and reputational impact of policy, legislative, and regulatory issues

  • Understand healthcare issues and strategic long-term vision of company plans and objectives

  • Advanced analytical skills, ability to build mid-term and long-term strategies

  • Strong influencing skills, ability to build productive partnership with different stake-holders

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate com-plex policy issues clearly and concisely

  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Fluent Ukrainian and English

Experience and Education:

  • Science-related graduate degree or beyond

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Experience in public affairs / government relations / patient advocacy / market ac-cess / communications is a strong advantage
