Electrical Controls Technician Location(s): Tallmadge, OH, US, 44278 Function: Manufacturing Audience: Hourly Work Arrangement: On Site Requisition ID: 62960 PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Electrical Controls Technician is responsible for safely and efficiently maintaining the equipment and facilities needed to produce a high-quality product. Job functions include, but are not limited to, short and long-term productivity improvement projects, equipment analysis and root cause procedures, assist in development and execution of preventative & predictive maintenance programs. They will also help with troubleshooting and repair of existing automation machines and various sensing technologies, including but not limited to: PLCs, Motion Controls, Drives, Panel View, Ignition and Wonderware, advanced sensing and scanning solutions. The position will also play an instrumental role in advancing operation reliability (equipment Preventative Maintenance, Total Productive Maintenance, and Predictive Maintenance). Reports to: Maintenance Leader Span of Control: Plant JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Live the Safety stand, adhere to the safety responsibilities. Ensure a safe and clean work environment while building a culture where safety is always the first priority. Advance plant's safety culture through improving equipment reliability and eliminate upset conditions. Interact and coordinate with plant operations to design and implement safety improvement projects Participate in the safety and good housekeeping programs as established within the plant. Principle Duties: Identify and correct deficiencies associated with NEC and NFPA 70E codes and requirements. Identify improvement opportunities and maintain PLC platforms, PanelView, Wonderware, various motion controls systems, AC/DC and VFD drives. Implement programming changes to existing PLC programs and develop PLC programming changes for small size improvement projects. Read and analyze ladder and relay logic diagrams and interpret electrical and mechanical prints to aid in trouble shooting. Manage small to medium size engineering projects which may include quality systems, laser scanning technologies and vision systems. Troubleshoot, repair and calibrate extruding, finishing, and packaging machinery as well as electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Participate in the preventive and predictive maintenance program for any plant electrical and instrument equipment or control systems. Complete Daily work records and activity reports within SAP. Perform other related duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Minimum of 2 years' experience in electrical maintenance field Associates degree or certification in Electrical Technology or equivalent is preferred Must be eligible to work in the US on an unlimited basis SKILLS AND ABILITIES Strong knowledge of the NEC and NFPA 70E codes required. Advanced understanding of mechanical maintenance repairs and troubleshooting skills/ability Advanced expertise in Allen Bradley PLC platforms, PanelView, Wonderware, various motion controls systems, AC/DC and VFD drives required. Ability to read all types of blueprints and schematics required. Proficient with electrical trouble shooting meters required. Experience troubleshooting Hydraulic / pneumatic systems required. Experience creating and executing a job plan utilizing electrical safe work practices required. Ability to design conduit, wiring, and electrical equipment. Knowledgeable in the instal
