Noble County Council On Aging Receptionist in Kendallville, Indiana

REQUIREMENTS:

The Receptionist must have a pleasant phone personality and the ability to relate to older adults and the public. He/She should deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner and present a positive image for the Council on Aging and Noble Transit. He/She will also maintain the highest level of confidentiality of the clients personal, financial, and medical information. Good verbal communication skills and the ability to deal effectively and professionally with elderly, special needs individuals, or children is desired.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

Be responsible and professional in answering the telephone and disseminating phone calls to the correct office or person. Be responsible for accurate phone messages relayed promptly to the correct individuals.

Make calls to confirm NTS trips for the following day.

Schedule appointments for the Foot Clinic and SHIP. Confirm appointments.

Take reservations for senior activities and collect payment. Write Receipts.

Put mail out for pickup and collect delivered mail daily.

Greet walk-ins and provide basic assistance or referrals for seniors and visitors to the Senior Center. Give out appropriate brochures and phone numbers.

Plan and prepare meal for monthly carry-in, including set-up and clean-up.

Make contact with partnering facilities for Bingo prizes, door prizes, meal sponsors, etc.

Sort newsletter for distribution by drivers and volunteers. Maintain Mailing List

Maintain records of Sponsors, Donors and Volunteers. Write thank you notes.

Keep track of activity center usage.

Oversee loaner program for medical equipment.

Keep Service info list updated and available (Homemakers, Handymen, Lawn care, etc.)

Be responsible for maintaining an organized, neat appearance around the front desk and sitting areas.

Assist with inventory of supplies on hand and keep supply areas stocked and disbursed.

Refill toilet paper, paper towels and soap in front bathrooms as needed.

Give out employment applications and route the applications to the Executive Director upon completion.

Hand out applications for Lions Club eyeglass program and give to Executive Director upon completion.

Offer coffee, tea and water to guests. Assist guests with using hot drink machine, as needed.

Make sure office is locked and lights off at end of day.

TURN ON NIGHT RING

Assist in marketing of services offered by Council on Aging and Noble Transit.

Make copies and post notices of events for employees and clients.
