Project Overview:

Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy.

Woodside Energy is Australia's leading natural gas producer, and Bechtel is excited to be working with this key customer to help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source.

Bechtel is seeking an enthusiastic Engagement Coordinator to assist in creating our one team culture and work with stakeholders to support harmony across the Project. This is a FIFO role working 3:1 roster based in Karratha.

Working in the Communications and Social Performance team and supporting the whole Project, the Engagement Coordinator will champion our wellbeing committee and events, drive our reward and recognition program and produce communications to support these activities.

The right candidate will use research and statistics to identify opportunities to increase productivity, predict challenges and enhance employee engagement.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Champion of Wellbeing Committee running/hosting events and activities onsite and in the camp. Assist with promotion and communication.

  • Manages onsite reward and recognition program. Processing of nominations, communications, preparing rewards and events

  • Assist with producing various written employee engagement communications.

  • Performs research and develops statistical information and studies on issues such as workplace productivity, engagement trends and best practices.

  • Interfaces with various stakeholders to identify opportunities to enhance morale, wellbeing, and engagement.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Event Management Experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Prior construction experience preferred

  • Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously delivering accurate results within deadline.

  • Must be a creative, organized, enthusiastic individual with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and manage stakeholder relationships in a fast-changing environment.

  • Skills in basic graphic design and poster creation

Additional Information

This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).

The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site
