Job Description Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Specialist for our Production Planning and Control (PPC) team at our Vallam, Kanchipuram, facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the production process, ensuring that it runs smoothly, efficiently, and meets the company’s quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Job Description

Production Planning:

  • Develop and maintain production schedules to ensure timely completion of products.

  • Coordinate with various departments to gather necessary information for production planning.

  • Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes in demand or production issues.

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to ensure continuous production flow.

  • Work closely with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials.

  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure all products meet the company’s quality standards.

  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures throughout the production process.

  • Identify and resolve any quality issues in a timely manner.

Process Improvement:

  • Analyse production data to identify areas for improvement.

  • Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to enhance production processes.

Coordination and Communication:

  • Act as a liaison between different departments, including production, procurement, and sales.

  • Communicate production status, issues, and changes to relevant stakeholders.

  • Ensure all team members are informed and aligned with production goals and schedules.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate production records and prepare regular reports on production performance.

  • Document all production processes and update them as necessary.

  • Analyse production data and generate reports for management review.

Safety Metrics:

  • Implement and monitor safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Track and report on safety metrics and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

  • Conduct regular safety audits and address any safety concerns promptly.

Sales and Operations Planning:

  • Collaborate with the sales team to align production plans with sales forecasts.

  • Ensure that the production schedule supports the sales and operations plan.

  • Adjust production strategies based on changes in sales forecasts and market demand.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics and Communication Engineering.

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in production planning and control, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control principles.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Proficient in production planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent English communication skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • SAP ERP experience is an added advantage.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems.

  • Knowledge of safety and compliance standards in manufacturing.
