BASIC FUNCTION
The Staff Engineer (Polish and Buff Process) will have technical responsibility for the manufacturing processes for Polish and Buff at the Sanimex Faucet Operation (SFO). The Staff Engineer for Foundry will be responsible for all Foundry area operations at SFO. The Polish and Buff Engineer will have input and responsibility in the selection, implementation, of procedures and processes to maintain appropriate and cost-effective manufacturing processes for Polish and Buff.
Direct major capital projects and equipment purchase for capacity and strategic purposes at SFO.
Support corporate activities regarding the international growth of the Global Faucets Operations.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
The Staff Engineer (Polish and Buff) will have technical responsibility to direct the flow of material and operation of all equipment associated with the Foundry area process.
The Polish and Buff Engineer must be able to detect and be able to diagnose equipment and process problems. An understanding of previous operations and subsequent operations is necessary.
Development of detailed process specifications and routings for manufacturing.
The Polish and Buff Engineer is responsible for development of all necessary process documentation and training.
Initiate investigation and testing of new processes or process changes to improve costs, quality, and productivity.
Assist with providing cost estimates to the New Product Manufacturing Engineering group.
Work with the Kohler supplier network within or outside USA.
Support New Product Development group in launching new products, by providing technical assessment of potential problems and the designing of tooling.NTER OPPORTUNITY STATEMENT TEXT HERE...please use Arial 3 as the font.
Skills/Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree (ABET) with a minimum of 5 years in applicable hands-on foundry related experience in a die casting operation. A background in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Metallurgy or related field required.lease enter a brief description of the position requirement - this will populate the "Skills and Requirements" section on the job.
