Position Specific Description
Employees in this role support senior management decision making by supporting O&M for Distributed Generation. Individuals in this role will plan, communicate, and coordinate budgeting process, monthly re-forecasts and month end close for DG O&M. Employees in this role should focus and identify improvement of spending and risks and opportunities.
Position Specific Responsibilities
• Provides reporting and analysis for all operations activity
• Extract, organize, analyze and report data in a manner that is useful and relevant
• Assist in establishing basic financial training for DG organization
• Host and schedule monthly Corporate G&A expenses for VP and lead team on a monthly basis and in a timely manner
• Work with vendors, accounting and project team members to ensure accruals are posted accurately and timely
• Work with DG lead team to ensure accurate forecast
• Review, understand and explain corporate G&A cost variances, identify major gaps and assist with MOPR variance explanations
• Review, understand and explain headcount variances
• Provide management and business units with support related to Corp G&A, forecasting, payroll updates, headcount, reclass entries and ad hoc requests
• Assist with master data requests and modifications for all business units
• Work with AP and project teams to ensure costs are coded to accurate WBS elements
• Ensure proper time coding for new employees by updating and maintaining on a monthly basis timesheet review.
Job Overview
Employees in this role support senior management decision making via financial modeling and analysis, including but not limited to, revenue requirements and customer bill impacts, discounted cash flow analysis, and financial statement modeling. This position identifies and conducts complex analysis of financial impacts to issues and/or decisions facing the company and proposes strategies to maximize financial performance of company.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Identifies, analyzes, and communicates to management the impact on the Company's financial structure, profitability, and competitive position utilizing relevant analytical methods and/or department forecasting models
Provides financial analysis support for various projects, calculating revenue requirements, net present value, customer bill impact, etc.
Provides expertise, support, and financial training for the company departments requiring these services
Performs financial analyses as required by management or regulatory bodies
Makes recommendations on financing decisions and executes long and/or short term financings
Prepares PowerPoint presentations to be provided to Senior and Executive Management
Acts as a mentor to lower level employees
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
High School Grad / GED
Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
Experience: 4+ years
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s - Accounting / Finance
Master’s - Accounting / Finance
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
