Army Installation Management Command Writer Editor Multimedia NF 03 in Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington

Summary This position is located at Joint Base Lewis McChord Marketing Department. Responsibilities Creates, researches and reviews articles ensuring information is accurate and sufficiently detailed to prevent publication errors or improper information. Conducts thorough quality assurance (QA) checks; follows established goals, deadlines and production schedules. Ensures that publications conform to organizational and government policies, practices and style guidelines. Develops content using a variety of multimedia formats including photography and video. Uses desktop publishing hardware and software to draft, edit and layout the material and sometimes to design, print and distribute it. Independently or in a group setting, manages publishing projects from conception to printing and distribution. Coordinates with production ; sets priorities for editing publications and other materials. Establishes rapport with contacts within and outside the organization. Keeps supervisor informed on the status of assigned projects and alerts supervisor of potential delay. Independently writes, edits, and proof reads articles for print and online publications/platforms Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Applicants must possess the following: 1. A minimum of one year of specialized experience directly related to the duties described above. Specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Note: Combinations of education and experience are qualifying and may be acceptable in lieu of the one-year specialized experience requirement. 2. Knowledge and documented skill in grammar, writing, and editing. 3. Experience in producing/editing content for a multimedia organization. 4. Comprehensive oral and written communication skills. 5. Ability to use computers with standard software packages and desktop publishing. 6. Comprehensive knowledge of publishing concepts, practices and technologies. 7. Demonstrated knowledge of writing for the web. 8. Knowledge/skill in taking and transmitting publishable photographs and videos. PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
