Reporting to the Plant Manager, the AS CAD Manager supports the translation of product configurations generated in submittal/record set drawing packages from AS Construction Services into production ready documentation, including technical documents (production travelers, BOMs, etc.) and CAD content for machine programming (DXF). In instances of custom installation configurations, the AS CAD Manager consults with the sister plants, AS Construction Services, and AWI ProjectWorks teams to develop manufacturable, and installable solutions paying attention to material/machining limitations, construction tolerances, assembly/installation logic and process. This role also reviews inbound work for its accuracy and manufacturability and develops the develop fabrication, forming, assembly, and installation strategies for given scopes. In these capacities, the AS CAD Manager develops standard work that is specific to plant production processes and standards. As a leader at the plant, this role is also responsible for developing training and processes for their direct reports, the Manufacturing Technical Coordinators. Additionally, includes development of training plans not only for the plant itself, but also this role coordinates with sister plants in visioning and implementation of coordinated standard work within the AS Metals network. What you will do Supports Manufacturing Technical Coordinators with shop drawings, responsible for training new and existing coordinators. Troubleshoots and quality checks submittal drawings created by Manufacturing Technical Coordinators prior to the drawings being submitted to the customer/Project Manager to ensure adherence to customer design intent, system limitation requirements, manufacturing capabilities and optimized cost effectiveness. Develops and implements change management with the AS Metals network for manufacturing drawings for plants and works collaboratively with metals network to align strategies and procedures to support production teams. Leverages experience and knowledge of the product line to provide design solutions for internal and external customers. Supports day-to-day manufacturing on the production floor and reacts to issues on the manufacturing floor, identifying production issues and coordinating resolution with the executing teams.
