Job Title: Seed Inventory Technician
Job Description
As a Seed Inventory Technician, you will be responsible for conducting a comprehensive review of seed lots on hand, cross-checking lists with physical inventory to ensure accurate documentation, and preparing items for devitalization according to protocols. You will organize the inventory for optimal storage and accessibility, support shipping and receiving activities, and interact with researchers to manage shifting priorities and deadlines. You will also have opportunities for additional scientific training, project support, and research opportunities in field, greenhouse, and laboratory projects depending on your performance and competencies. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as required.
Qualifications
AA/AS/BS in Biology, Plant Science, or related fields
Ability to work in cold environments (40F) and tolerate dust and plant debris
Ability to read, understand, and follow SOPs
Basic computer skills for data input and database work
Work Environment
The role involves working in various environments such as cold rooms, environments with dust and plant debris, and standard office settings. Physical activities like lifting up to 50 lbs may be involved but are not a requirement
