UPMC Program Manager / Addiction Medicine Services in Jamestown, New York

UPMC Chautauqua is seeking a full-time Program Manager to support our Addiction Medicine Services / Residential Treatment Program in Jamestown. This position offers primarily daytime hours and is an excellent opportunity to join a team of dedicated healthcare professionals.

Our ideal candidate will have experience with supervision and treating individuals with substance use disorder. NYS Qualified Health Professional a plus.

About the Unit: This is an Ambulatory Residential Addiction Services unit certified by the State of New York's Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) and is designed to support individuals diagnosed with a substance use disorder. The Residential program is a 20-bed unit comprised of multiple common areas consisting of dining room & kitchen, group room, TV and Computer rooms, art therapy room, access to gym, and space for indoor recreational activities. Our program uses evidenced based programming combined with vocational and wellness therapies to create person centered environment. The staffing is comprised of Psychiatrist, Physician Assistant, Nurses (RN's& LPN's), Counselors, Milieu Therapists, Supportive Employment Specialist, Psych Associates, Personal Care Technicians, and Peer Specialists to serve all the various needs of a client during their course of treatment.

About the Position: The Program Manager is responsible for the administrative and clinical leadership and direction of the program. This includes the conceptualization, organization, and implementation of the program. Responsible for coordinating the overall direction of the program in collaboration with all other supervisors.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor program productivity on a regular basis.

  • Conducts individual evaluations of staff performance within the set time period.

  • Supervise training and orientation to all new staff and ongoing training to current employees as per Regulations.

  • Provide clinical/administrative supervision to supervisors, and other program staff as needed on a weekly basis.

  • Conducts all hiring, promotions, and disciplinary action for program staff.

  • Oversee, direct, and coordinate all day-to-day functions of the program. Manage both clinical and administrative issues related to service delivery with other Program staff.

  • Conduct interviews with candidates and review potential employees with a Human Resources representative.

  • Work collaboratively with Clinical Administrator to develop and expand the program to meet the needs of the target population as it corresponds to the overall vision of UPMC/WPIC.

  • Conducts an evaluation of program goals from previous year, identifying accomplishments and areas of need to be used in strategic planning for the next fiscal year.

  • Demonstrates compliance with Program and Institute policies and procedures.

  • Provides or coordinates effective group training and individual supervision for all program staff.

  • Work directly with the Department of Human Resources (HR) to screen candidates for positions within the program.

  • Develops, monitors, and maintains the Program within the proposed budget

  • Participate in WPIC meetings and outside agency meetings as deemed necessary by supervisor.

  • Manage and oversee the flow of clinical paperwork related to service delivery.

  • Manage programmatic issues related to all services. Monitor and manage all cases that are either entering or are currently in services.

  • Defines annual strategic goals, which coincide with the mission of the service line and WPIC.

  • Develops outcome procedures demonstrating program effectiveness.

  • Develops procedures and a reporting structure to measure quality of care.

  • Masters Degree in a human services field with a minimum of five years experience or Bachelors and 7 years experience in a mental health setting.

  • At least two years supervisory experience preferred.

  • Clinical experience in a psychiatric setting with knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, family, individual and group treatment. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: License in Social Work or Psychology preferred. UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
