We are looking for a talented Manufacturing, Safety, Improvement Manager - 1st Shift to join our team specializing in Manufacturing , Engine Bussiness Segment in James Town, NY

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Description

  • Performs skilled activities which support manufacturing business needs. Selects and uses appropriate tools, machinery and specialty equipment. Learns and understands the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment.

  • Comply with HSE standards, policies, procedures & regulations.

  • May work independently and instruct or coach others.

  • Performs quality inspections.

  • Performs work in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and specifications using various tools, measuring and testing instruments.

  • Support equipment uptime and downtime failure analysis.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

  • Complete purchasing for 3D printing equipment, supplies, projects, Trainee tools, etc.

  • Perform all aspects of 3D printing (prepping machines, parts, cleaning, learn entire process)

  • Take completed prints to customers, get feedback, suggestions & assist with iterative design changes

  • Be a ‘Maker’ and perform hands-on creation of prototypes, assemblies and implementation of 3D designs and other fixes including installation and testing in the field. Work with OE Techs, Tool Room, Area Trades, Engineers, Techs and Designers as needed to get projects completed rapidly.

  • Catalogue all prints with Tool Design including MCR's and KAA #'s to ensure tracking and robust availability for ‘perpetual restock’ items.

  • Perform periodic checks to ensure robustness of fixes and usage by employees

  • Learn and train others on the latest 3D printing technology

  • Act as a project manager for Top 5 Ergo and other safety related projects as needed

  • Assist with Trainee program management and perform program admin work, including;

  • Trainee E time management

  • Daily interaction with Trades and their Trainees to ensure the program is working

  • Trainee hiring process, assistance with Onboarding training (initial LOTO, WAH etc.)

  • Help with the 6 month rotation development and communication

  • Monitor college class schedules and track completion for NYS reporting

  • Teach outside hire Trades about the program and Trainer expectations

  • Work with Trainees on JCC details and Tooling U online classes

  • Help complete NYS forms, Audits, etc.

  • Write Grant applications and research new technologies for inclusion into the program

  • Monitor Trainee, Designer & Tool Room financial budgets by providing advanced finance reports

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
