SUMMARY: Responsible for management of programs and partnerships to progress the company’s priority sustainability goals, with a focus on environmental health and safety. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for oversight and analysis of data collection used to produce corporate sustainability reporting in accordance with the GHG Protocol, GRI, SASB, and other sustainability reporting framework requirements. Implement and manage sustainability programs/services to support customers, corporate sustainability goals, and comply with federal, state and local environmental regulations. Creates and maintains cooperative partnerships across multiple stakeholder groups – regulators, customers, competitors, and other interested parties. Coordinates with internal stakeholders to promote continuous improvement against key metrics. Contribute to the design and development of the company sustainability report for reporting corporate sustainability measures and results. Collaborates across all business units and corporate functions to develop metrics and KPIs that align with the company’s overall sustainability strategy. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, engineering, sustainability, environmental science, or a related field; or a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education. EXPERIENCE: 5 years experience in maritime, transportation or corporate sustainability programs. TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word. COMPENTENCIES: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to display courage and empathy while maintaining executive presence. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting assigned deadlines. Ability to work independently supporting team members from various disciplines. Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope. Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop, evaluate and implement solutions. Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team. Ability to interface business applications with other business systems. Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, policies, procedures, correspondences and other written materials. Knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks such as GRI, SASB, and CDP preferred. OTHER: Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish). JOB SCOPE: Position impacts multiple business units/segments. WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit for long periods of time.
