Description
Department Summary:
Metering & Regulation Engineering Electrical, Instrumentation and Control (MR&C EIC) is responsible for engineering and design of Electrical, Instrumentation and Control systems installed at gas facilities. MR&C EIC also provides field and technical support for our partners in MR&C Operations.
Job Description/Responsibilities:
As a Project Engineer, your role would include, but may not be limited to the following responsibilities:
● Project engineering and design
● Product/process research
● Field technical support
● Support and engineering of large customer meter stands
● Development of standards
In addition, the Engineer:
Frequently coordinates with other internal departments including; Operations, Supply Chain, Project Management, Project Controls, Meter Technology Center, Warehousing, Gas Control and others.
Must coordinate and communicate with multiple internal and external groups and / or service providers.
Leads and/or assists with engineering projects to include design, plans, inspections, system planning, specifications, reports, maps, environmental impacts, permits, contracts, schedules, estimates, surveying, easements, data collection, construction observation, and field investigation.
Provides planning, design, construction support, and maintenance support of electrical power, instrumentation and control systems located at Natural Gas facilities.
Provides engineering services with accuracy, integrating all applicable standards and procedures on time and under budget.
Uses computer assisted engineering, design, and drafting software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
Understands and follows company established standard procedures for file structure and standard drawing procedures for projects
Utilizes effective oral and written communication skills to provide technical expertise to coworkers and other departments.
Attends internal and external meetings.
Provide all engineering services in a legal and ethical manner.
Resolves all customer complaints in a timely manner.
Serves as onsite project representative.
Reviews operating and construction sites to monitor progress and other duties per the design documents.
Applies an intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields; makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods; and represents the organization in meetings to resolve important questions.
The Engineer role requires the use of advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices of his/her field and related sciences and disciplines. In addition, the desired candidates has the:
Ability to independently evaluate, select & apply engineering theory.
Knowledge and/or experience in utility operations
Knowledge and/or experience with National Electrical Code/NFPA 70 and Electrical System Design/Installation
Application of utility business model
-Experience working with various SCADA RTU platforms
Excellent communication skills
Skills to lead, problem solve, and work well in a team environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.50/hr.
