This position works at Umraniye location in the Nutrition division. Our nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages, from helping babies and children grow, to keeping adult bodies strong and active. As the Senior Medical Manager, you will be reporting to Medical Director.

What You’ll Do

  • Accountability for strategic planning and tactical implementation as it relates to the medical affairs, research (clinical and/or RWE/HEOR as required), and development areas of the nutrition business.

  • Line management of MSL(s).

  • Ensure all promotional materials are approved in line with the Abbott Code of Business Conduct and local policies and procedures.

  • Develop new and manage existing external KOL relationships to contribute to (1) successful introduction of new products (2) shaping the healthcare environment for nutrition.

  • Establish professional partnership relationships with KOLs and health experts/ authorities in relevant medical nutrition fields to support core brands and shape the healthcare / consumer environment for nutrition.

  • Strategic implementation of an approved medical and scientific strategy for the business.

  • Set the agenda and lead advisory boards, investigator meetings, external medical strategy forums, and other key internal and external focus meetings as necessary.

  • Manage the planning and execution (including monitoring accountabilities) of local and affiliate-led clinical studies (single or multi centre), investigator-initiated trials (global approvals, CRO agreements, and other clinical trials related operations) relating to the adult nutrition business in accordance with Abbott’s policies and procedures.

  • Coordinate activities which provide clinical, dietetic, and scientific support to assist sales and marketing, product complaints and liabilities, including provision of information to sales force, customers and end users.

  • Provide a scientific service for marketed nutritional products which is aligned to business needs and priorities.

  • Work in close cooperation with affiliate medical director, regional and global colleagues to meet the medical needs of the affiliate.

  • Ensure good communication to maximise cross-functional working and synergies across other teams. Collate and share feedback about market conditions with higher management regularly.

  • Acts as the company’s senior scientific consultant and as the therapeutic area expert to internal stakeholders such as the commercial organization including brand and R&D.

  • Prepare and/or contribute to Medical / Regulatory / QA related policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • University Degree in Medicine

  • 5+ years’ experience in the pharmaceutical or nutrition industry in either medical affairs, clinical research, or R&D

  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English

  • People management experience

  • Strong inter-personal and leadership skills; demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of colleagues and functions

  • Networking skills and confidence to interact with senior experts on a peer-to-peer level

  • Ability to work independently and meticulously

  • Medical acumen that includes staying up to date on new industry trends and breakthroughs

  • Good organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent administrative, organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • No restrictions for travelling
