IOT will also act as the technology and solution enabler for the State, helping its partner agencies achieve business objectives and innovation.

Role Overview:

The Indiana Office of Technology (IOT)seeks an enthusiastic information technology professional to join its Messaging & Collaboration team in an entry-level (associate) capacity. The Messaging and Collaboration team covers a myriad of technologies related to messaging and email services in Microsoft 365, such as Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Power Apps. Mail services include Exchange in a cloud hybrid setup, mail encryption, anti-spam appliance, etc. The ideal candidate will have some background in scripting and automation using PowerShell or related scripting languages.

Salary:

This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $55,224 but may be commensurate with education and job experience.

A Day in the Life:

Responsibilities include:

  • You will assist with configuring, maintaining, and supporting several technologies.

  • You will be responsible for the implementation and completion of small projects.

  • You will troubleshoot technical issues.

  • You will be responsible for interacting with the various internal teams and end users to resolve reported issues via the ticketing system.

  • You will provide moderate-level support of applications and software that interface with the Indiana Office of Technology and its customers.

  • You will assist with information system upgrades, including planning, testing, and documenting the process.

  • Perform workstation and server administration setup.

  • You will monitor and maintain continuity with software licensing and maintenance agreements.

  • You will provide suggestions regarding hardware and system software planning and budgeting to higher-level staff.

  • You will maintain the production change control schedule and participate in change control.

  • You will work with Information Technology staff to assist in developing problem solutions and/or software and hardware enhancements.

This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours that may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.

You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:

  • Moderate knowledge of information technology systems and their related infrastructure.

  • General knowledge of performance and tuning techniques.

  • Ability to solve problems effectively and efficiently with direction from higher-level information technology staff.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Considerable knowledge of policies, standards, procedures, and techniques.

  • Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
